he Nazca culture developed in the valleys of the southern coast of Peru as a loose confederation of settlements along rivers. The Nazca are renowned for their fine weavings and thin-walled ceramics decorated with many different-colored slips. Common themes in Nazca art are fertility, agriculture, and the regenerative powers of nature.
